Located on a bend in the Indian River, and just two minutes from the charming village of Port Carling, this spacious five bedroom cottage has lots of room for the entire extended family or your large group. There are various options for sleeping arrangements; and two lounge areas equipped with TVs, DVDs and VCRs provide comfortable and inviting spaces for your group to gather.
The cottage sits close to the water and offers a commanding view of the waterfront and river. Enjoy a morning coffee, or an afternoon cocktail on the wrap-around deck across the front of the cottage which provides a wonderful view of the waterfront and river activity. Soak up the sun’s rays on top of the boat port and then cool off with a swim from the dock.
The main living area features a soaring cathedral ceiling, a fully-equipped kitchen, dining space and TV area. Two bedrooms are located on this level. One offers a queen size bed, and a bunk bed with futon (double) on the bottom and a single on top. The second bedroom has a double bed, and a bunk bed with futon (double) on the bottom and a single on top. A three-piece bathroom completes this level.
The master bedroom, located in the loft, has a queen-size bed and a bunk bed with futon (double) on the bottom, and also offers a private ensuite with two-person Jacuzzi tub and skylights.
The lower level offers two more bedrooms. The fourth bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and a bunk bed with futon (double) on the bottom, and a single on top. The fifth bedroom has a double bed, and a futon (double) on the bottom, and a single on top. Each bedroom is equipped with cable TV.
The lower level is the entertainment hub of the cottage. There is a pool table, corner bar with fridge, TV area and card table. There is a walkout to the stone patio, and an outdoor hot tub that also offers a view of the water.
Port Carling, the hub of the Muskoka lakes, at the junction of Lakes Rosseau and Muskoka, offers fine and casual dining, unique shops, golf, and a beautiful public beach and park. Bring your own boat or rent one to do your own cruising of the famous Big Three lakes. You might choose to take a cruise on the steamship Segwun, or the newer Wenonah II which sail by the cottage. A canoe and paddleboat are available. Other activities in the area include horseback riding and hiking. In the autumn, marvel at the magnificent colours, visit the Cranberry Festival in Bala, or take in any of the antique and art shows and tours.
