Looking for the ultimate family vacation filled with lots of activities to do, beautiful sunsets and a child friendly waterfront? Then Sundown Cottage is the perfect fit for your family!
This three bedroom, one bath cottage was built in late 2014 and has all the comforts of home. There are three bedrooms: the first having two single beds, the second having one queen and room for a pack n play, and the third having two more singles. There is a one four-piece washroom with tub and shower. Everything is located on one floor.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker (bring own K-Cups). The dining table has seating for six plus a smaller chair for a child. The kitchen is open concept with the living area, so the whole family can spend time together while dining or lounging. The dining table offers an excellent area for a friendly game of cards.
There is seating for six in the living room area with the couch and two chairs where all can watch their favorite movie on the Satellite TV or DVD player. The cottage recently installed unlimited internet service. Sit by the cozy propane fireplace to warm up after a day outside, especially after snowmobiling or skiing in the winter. The covered deck facing the water offers a breath-taking view of the trees, yard, lake and sunset views. There is seating for five people and the BBQ is located on the deck. The yard has a slight slope to the waterfront, and is excellent for playing games.
There is a fire pit by the water with a few chairs to sit on to sing songs and enjoy as more. The dock is 50 x 5 ft. in size, 3 feet deep at the end and offers excellent swimming. You can also enter the lake with the gradual entry which has a nice solid sand bottom with a few rocks. There is a canoe, a kayak, a child's kayak and a stand up paddle board to take onto the lake. During the winter months, a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended as the driveway is steep.
The cottage is only ten minutes from the town of South River where you'll find some local shops and restaurants to visit. Mikisew Provincial Park is across the lake that offers a beautiful sandy beach and hiking trails. In the winter months, various outdoor activities can be enjoyed such as cross country skiing or snowmobiling on the nearby trails. Eagle Lake is also excellent for fishing and ice fishing for bass, pickerel, pike, perch and whitefish.
This cottage only accepts 7 night bookings.
**Check-in: after 4:00pm and Check-out: before 10:00am
**Vacationer supplies their own linens: Sheets and pillowcases + Inside towels, kitchen towels and beach towels. Please inquire about other arrangements.
**Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.
**Vacationer supplies their own children's life jackets.
