This cottage is a five-minute motor-boat ride across Wood Lake to a picturesque property on MacBeth Island. It is recommended that you have access to a motor boat if you are going to rent this cottage, where a gentle solitude awaits you. This cottage was built in 1992 into the side of a hill. There are approximately 30 cottages on the island. Fishing includes bass and pickerel.
The sun streams in this open concept cottage. The full front of this cathedral ceiling cottage is comprised of windows and the view is very serene from either the kitchen or the living room. There is ceramic and hardwood flooring throughout.
The TV provided comes with a DVD and VCR but you will prefer to be spending your time outdoors on this magnificent property.
Down at the waterfront there is a u-shaped spacious dock and a flat rock bottom entry. Strategically placed stone steps make the entry into the water very manageable, or you can jump right in from the dock. The depth of the water at the side of the dock is approximately three feet while at the end of the dock it is approximately four and a half feet. The water stays shallow for quite a distance. Due to this shoreline it is not suggested for children under six years of age.
This property has a lot of character. The magnificent cedar trees tower high above and present both shade and privacy on this 100 foot lot. The stonework stairs are impressive that lead you down to the dock where you will get the afternoon sun and sit and listen to the water lapping at the shore.
You will really enjoy the fire pit area at this idyllic spot. What a wonderful way to wind down at the end of the day.
Sleeping arrangements include 1 queen size bed, 1 double bed and 2 single beds in the three bedrooms. Each of the bedrooms has a ceiling fan and the breeze from the lake keeps the cottage cool. A loft will afford extra sleeping space or you may prefer the Bunkie for more privacy where you will find a double bed and a futon.
