A wonderful cottage ambience can be felt the moment you enter this charming and tastefully-furnished two bedroom cottage on Whitestone Lake, near Dunchurch. It has been renovated recently and offers a brand new kitchen and bathroom. New knotty pine walls and tongue-and-groove vaulted ceiling add to the richness of the interior.
The comfortable living room has a great view of the lake through large picture windows which extend right across the front of the cottage. The wood stove will take the chill off those cooler summer evenings.
The new, well-equipped kitchen is open to the living area. A bistro table and four stools sit adjacent to the kitchen. If you prefer to dine outside and enjoy the view, a spacious deck, complete with picnic table, is easily accessed through sliding glass doors from the living room. There are Muskoka chairs on the deck so you can sit and relax with your morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail.
The master bedroom has a double bed, and the second bedroom has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and single on top. The new three-piece bathroom is spacious and bright.
The property has a flat area for children to play and then slopes down to the waterfront. The shoreline is naturally rocky. Swimming is best done from the dock and there is a ladder for getting in and out of the water. Relax on the dock or explore the lake in the paddleboat, canoe or rowboat provided. A small fire pit right at the water's edge will quickly become a favourite spot for the family to gather on those perfect summer evenings.
The Village of Dunchurch is about 6 kilometers from the cottage. The town of Parry Sound, about 40 minutes away, is home to the Festival of the Sound that runs for three weeks in July/August, the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts, the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, boat cruises of Georgian Bay, restaurants and shopping. There are several golf courses in the area. Whitestone Lake is over 10 miles in length, has approximately 120 kilometers of shoreline, and offers a variety of fish such as walleye, yellow pickerel, smallmouth bass and pike. There is a marina on the lake which offers boat and motor rentals.
Knotty Pine cottage is truly a great "get away". Come and enjoy!
