Ontario Cottage Rentals

Location: Lake of Bays, Huntsville, Ontario.

This five thousand square foot, five-bedroom luxury holiday home has 250 feet of frontage on the much sought-after Lake of Bays. The cottage was built in 2002 and although the architecture is Muskoka, the cottage has modern amenities, which includes central-air conditioning, central vac and stereo sound in each room of the cottage.

You will enter through French doors into a slate-floored foyer, to a large, very well equipped kitchen. The massive counter tops are marble. The appliances, from the Thermadore gas range to the microwave are a chef's delight. There is even a large wine fridge to chill your favourite wines. While meals are being prepared the chef will not be alone. The kitchen faces out, open-concept style, into the dining area with seating for 13.

A mud and laundry room combination is just off the kitchen dining area.

The Muskoka room has walnut flooring, a wood-burning fireplace and has comfortable seating for seven. From the wall-to-wall windows you overlook the activity in the bay. The office / den, separated from the living room by a French door, is furnished with a generous desk, and is equipped with internet.

The living room is tastefully decorated. The vaulted ceiling extends 30 feet in this room. A second wood-burning fireplace that goes floor-to-ceiling and is open on all four sides enhances the ambiance of Muskoka, warmth and peacefulness.

There are five bedrooms, all located on the second floor, and the configuration sleeps 13 very comfortably. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and inside balconies that look down into the living room from the second floor. The master suite has a second, private, outdoor balcony with views of the bay. The master suite has a queen-sized bed and large windows that overlook the water. The very private ensuite bathroom adjoining this room features a five pieces, including a separate water closet, an oversized marble shower stall, a beautifully appointed claw foot tub, and a double sink in the vanity top.

The second bedroom featuring an inside balcony is furnished with a set of bunk beds. There is a double bed on the bottom bunk topped by a single bed. The third bedroom, nautically decorated with a porthole window, has a trundle bed that can sleep two.

The fourth is a very spacious sunken bedroom (down 3 steps) with a queen-sized bed and a large closet. This bedroom is at the back of the cottage and is windowed to the woods. The last bedroom is a large suite. It sleeps 4 people. There are two twin beds, two trundle beds and a private ensuite bathroom. There is also a large closet in this room. All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the ensuites have high quality fixtures including marble and cedar.

There are four bathrooms. One is just inside the front door on the main floor. The second is in the hallway, which adjoins the bedrooms. The third is the master ensuite and the fourth is also an ensuite with the fifth bedroom.

The cottage porch wraps around on three sides. The roof of the cottage is extended to cover the porch and give protection from the elements. The porch is beautifully decorated with a hammock and 10 comfortable chairs.

Large granite steps lead down to the rugged shoreline. There are 25 steps to the dock. Half way down there is a granite patio with a fire pit and an outdoor hot tub! The area has wired-in stereo and just enough night lighting to set the mood. At the 16 x 30 foot dock there are two kayaks for your enjoyment. If you are bringing a boat, there is a full service marina, including rentals, just five minutes from the dock. Swimming is great. You can use the ladder on the dock or go in at the shore by going down three granite steps into the water.

The walkout basement is an unfinished area of the cottage. There is a pool table, sofa, television and an eclectic assortment of furniture in this area. Although there are no finished bedrooms in the basement, there are 2 queen- sized beds that could be used if necessary. This part of the cottage can be used if the weather is not ideal and the teenagers are restless.

This cottage is large and ideal for an extended group. It is located near Dwight in close proximity to Huntsville and Dorset. This wonderful spot is within 35 kms of world-class golfing, shopping and dining. Summer Wine is a superb luxury holiday home that will please the most discriminating tastes.
