This charming, modernized heritage home built in 1865 is truly a rare find and can be reached in just 1 ½ hour from downtown Toronto. Located on 28 acres with 250 feet waterfront on Lake St. George, Stonefield provides lots of privacy in a unique setting. The cottage and its outdoor patio area are surrounded by old cedar and pine trees. The spacious lawn area leading to the waterfront invites for games of all sort. A hammock, a canoe, a paddleboat and a row boat are awaiting you at the dock.
The entry into the waters of spring-fed Lake St. George is shallow with firm, sandy bottom - just perfect for children playing and running or wading in. There is lots of space in the 2,700 sq. ft., newly furnished cottage which can accommodate up to 10 people. Three bedrooms and a four-piece bathroom are located on the upper level which has hard-wood flooring. A king-size bed, a queen- size Murphy bed and a twin day bed with a twin pull-out option are each in separate light-filled rooms with a ceiling fan.
On the main level a queen size pull-out couch in the living room and a queen-size pull-out couch in the family room provide further sleeping arrangements. The three-piece bathroom is also located on the main level.
The modern country-style kitchen with tile flooring comes with all the amenities of a home including a full-size fridge and freezer. The family will enjoy gatherings in the dining room next to the kitchen. It has a special ambience created by the original log walls and great lighting from the log beam ceiling. The living room has gas fireplace and the same original log walls and beam ceiling of 1865.
The kitchen is also connected to the family room where everyone may come together and enjoy the great view towards the lake. Two comfortable seating arrangements easily provide enough space. The wood stove will ensure cozy temperatures during the cooler months of the year.
