Location: Canal Lake, in Kirkfield, Ontario
Peaceful Nook is nestled along the shores of Canal Lake near the village of Kirkfield. This three bedroom, one bathroom cottage is situated on a beautiful, partially shaded, level lot. Peaceful Nook recently added a lovely screened-in, wraparound sunroom on the lakeside offering guests a lovely view of the lake and property. The cottage is ideal for small families or couples looking to get away from the fast paced city life and enjoy some down time at a quaint retreat.
The kitchen, dining room and living room share the majority of the cottage space offering a sense of togetherness. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and all of the tools needed for prepping, cooking, and serving family cottage meals. Just off the kitchen, there is a dining table to seat up to six and a highchair. The modestly sized living room has a couch, two chairs and a television with a DVD player.
All three bedrooms are accessed off the living room and each contains a double bed. The two-piece bathroom is also in this area, and a shower is located in the back bedroom.
The newly added sunroom offers a comfortable lounging space with seating for six. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air, free from mosquitoes. The cottage property is very level making it ideal for all sorts of lawn activities. A fire pit situated near the shore is a great spot for night time relaxation and late night star gazing. The waterfront is not ideal for swimming as it is very weedy. If guests wish to go for a swim, it is best to take the canoe out onto the lake and swim where there are no weeds. Another option is to venture about 10 minutes down the road to the public boat launch where better swimming is available.
The Peaceful Nook cottage is great for nature lovers of any age who enjoy fishing, bird watching and canoeing. This private setting on Canal Lake is situated on the Trent Severn Waterway. Canal Lake is a medium-size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. It is located just 10 minutes from Kirkfield on the east and the town of Bolsover to the west. It is the most north-western of the Kawartha Lakes.
**Check-in: after 4:00pm and Check-out: before 10:00am
**Linen packages are available for this cottage, but vacationers are welcome to supply their own. A linen package includes sheets, pillowcases and towels for indoor use. The price for this will be shown as an option in the booking request form.
**Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.
**Vacationer supplies their own life jackets.
