Location: Six Mile Lake, Near Honey Harbour, Ontario

Family gatherings are what Six Mile Lake Retreat is all about. Only one and a half hours from Toronto, this large eight-bedroom cottage sleeps eighteen comfortably. Here is a great location for hiking, canoeing, fishing, or just relaxing.

The front door opens to a middle grand staircase that leads upstairs. On the main floor, to the left and right are two living rooms on either side, that will provide space for everyone to enjoy a movie or watch some Satellite TV. One living room has a leather corner sectional seating for eight and a woodstove. The second living room has leather corner sectional with seating for eight and a wood fireplace. There is also a large l sitting room with 3 sofas in another area, to get away from the hubbub of the happy crowd.

The dining room that will seat eighteen for meals is adjacent to the well-equipped large kitchen area. Two fridges and a freezer are available so you can stock up on supplies to feed your hungry brood.

Upstairs, there are a total of eight bedrooms, four on either side of the staircase. To the left there is a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed, dressers, and closet. Still staying in the left wing, there are three other bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed, and one with two single beds, and one with bunk beds, double on the bottom and single on the top. To the right, the right wing of the upstairs mirrors the left, with four more bedrooms: a master with king bed, a room with queen bed, a room with two singles, and a room with bunks (double and single.)

There are four bathrooms in the cottage: a 3-piece and a 4-piece on are the upper floor. On the main floor there are two 2-piece bathrooms.

The large, roomy deck facing the lake runs the entire length of the cottage and has a table and chairs as well as Muskoka chairs to sit down to enjoy the view of the lake. The porch sports eight Muskoka chairs and a bench.

Everyone will want to relax in the hot tub that seats eight people, at the end of the day.

Take a short stroll down the grassy yard to the waterfront and the fire pit. The shoreline has an entrance on one side of the sixteen-foot dock where there are two canoes and two paddleboats at the ready. The lake is good for boating and fishing, but not recommended for swimming. Eighteen acres of wooded wonder await the hikers, available for hiking all four seasons. In winter, there are all sorts of snowy activities, from local skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice fishing.

This spacious cottage is perfect for a big family wanting a quick and easy getaway from the city...  just add water and relax.
