Location: Otter Lake, Near Dorset, Ontario.

The warmth and charm of this beautiful private lakefront cottage exudes throughout this little piece of heaven.

Stepping into the large foyer, the lovely terrazzo floor tile is a warm welcome to the start of any vacation. The expansive and bright open concept kitchen is a cook's dream providing all of the amenities of home while the family gathers around the large dining table.

Wall to wall windows along the front of the cottage with a southwest exposure supplies an endless panoramic view of beautiful Otter Lake. The floor to ceiling fireplace in the large living room with seating for eight, is an inviting spot for a good old fashion evening of family chats or perhaps engage in a board game or two.

The five generous sized bedrooms are cheerfully decorated with modern decor. The master bedroom with a king-sized bed has a convenient 2 piece ensuite while the remaining two bedrooms have a queen in one and a double in the other. The main floor 4 piece bathroom is nicely located between the living and bedroom areas.

On the lower level, the walk-out basement is bright and open offering a family room area with a large screen TV with a DVD player. Two other bedrooms are located off of the family room offering further sleeping quarters with a queen bed and a double bottom/single top bunk bed in one room while the 5th bedroom has a set of single beds. A three piece bathroom services the downstairs area.

Outside, enjoy the hot tub for eight, the large sand beach, dock, two kayaks, and a canoe or gather around the large fire-pit to roast marshmallows. The wrap around deck hosts a picnic table, table for two for a romantic dinner perhaps, or sit back and take in the breeze from the lake in the comfortable muskoka chairs.



Only 10 minutes from the cottage is the Dorset Fire Tower Lookout which boasts epic views of the fall colours


There are many ATV'ing trails in the Dorset area. The Lake of Bays ATV Association operates more than 90kms of ATV'ing trails south of Dorset and Baysville that connect with the Haliburton trail system

Paint Lake Covered Bridge Trail - 2.5km of level walking trails

Trails behind Nordic Inn. Trails on Crown Land are natural paths through the wilderness


The cottage (weather dependent) has a tobaggan hill on the property and a private skating rink on the lake, a quick shovel off of the snow can clear it.

The Frost Centre has approximately 25kms of groomed cross-country ski and snowshoe trails with 8 looped trails of all levels. Ski and snowshoe rentals are available. They offer half-day and full-day passes.

Downhill Skiing is available within a half hour drive from the cottage at Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area as well as Sir Sam's Ski/Ride is under an hour from the cottage.


Dorset's Community Centre has an outdoor skating rink that is light up at night!

Dorset is a great place to enjoy SnowmobilingThe Tall Pines Snowmobile Club, part of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, offers 200kms of groomed trails that lead to thousands of kms of trails in the province.

  • $5,200 per week during high-season (High-Season includes Family Day Week, Victoria Day long weekend, March Break, the last full week of June to Labour Day Monday, Thanksgiving, as well as the week of Christmas and New Year's ).
  • $3,640 per week during off-season.
  • $867 per night during holiday weekends in off-season (3 night minimum).
  • $607 per night during off season (3 night min)
  • $1,000 refundable security deposit required.

    The Security Deposit is held as insurance for our owners that should malicious damages occur, they will not be financially responsible. Penalties will be charged to the guest for a number of reasons, not limited to: smoking inside a cottage where smoking is prohibited, exceeding the guest limit for the cottage, leaving garbage on the property, misuse of cottage property.
  • For stays 1 week or less: $59 Accidental Damage Insurance required.

    The Accidental Damage Insurance covers any unintentional damages declared by the guest before check out.
  • For stays longer than 1 week: $75 Accidental Damage Insurance required.

    The Accidental Damage Insurance covers any unintentional damages declared by the guest before check out.
  • $195 Cleaning Fee
  • $50 per pet Cleaning Fee
